The head of the department, Angelina Economou, has been serving the Kindergarten since 2009.
She entered the Department of Early Childhood Education and Education 5th in line in the year 2002-2003 and graduated in 2006.
Since then she worked in nurseries of the Municipality of Nafplio , until 2009 when she joined our staff.
She received the Level A Certification in the program “Training of Teachers for the Utilization and Application of ICT in Teaching Practice”, while in 2017 she attended the Level B Program “Training of Teachers for the Utilization and Application of ICT in Teaching Practice”. She has a good knowledge of English (Lower, University of Cambridge) and French (DELF 1 ,2 , 3, 4).
She has been involved in teaching with innovative methods such as the use of OLPC (One Laptop per Child) and for this reason she was a Speaker at the conference “Cutting Edge Technologies in Educational Practice” organized by Avgouleas-Linardatou Educational Institutions on the topic: “The use of OLPC in the classroom” in 2009.
In 2009 the School Counselor Mrs. Crystal Papageorgiou asked her to become a speaker in a seminar for pre-school teachers before the end of the school year , on “The use of the Interactive whiteboard in Kindergarten” , in which she shared her experience of use with the teachers of our prefecture.
She is the first Kindergarten teacher in the Prefecture of Argolida who implemented in the classroom a Health Education Program in collaboration with the Center for the Prevention of Addictions and Promotion of Psychosocial Health , “ELPIDA ZOIS” in Argos entitled “Pyxidoulis and Pyxidoula in Kindergarten” under the supervision of the social worker Mrs. Despina Markos.
Since then she attended, trained and implemented many Health Education programs , “The garden with 11 cats” , “Fairy tale without borders” , “Me and others” , “I know my feelings”.
She also holds a certificate of attendance of several seminars. The following are indicative : “The cooperation between kindergarten and primary school”, “, “The world of the library and the electronic library”, “Child abuse. From prevention to treatment”, “Getting to know the K.P.E. of Nea Kiou – Environment and Human Rights”, “Aesthetic and Music and Motor Education for Preschool Children”.
It has implemented the following Environmental Education programmes in cooperation with the KPE Nea Kios: “When I say orange, come out” , “Let me tell you a secret, I love recycling…” , “Erasmus River…”
She has participated with her class in literacy programs for Kindergarten in collaboration with METAICHMIO Publications and every year she participates in supporting Make aWish Greece.
