Antonia Konstantinopoulou, teacher of the 4th grade.
Antonia Konstantinoopoulou was born and raised in Patras. Having already acquired Proficiency in English and C1 in French, she graduated from the GEL Demenikon with a grade of 19 and 11/13. After traveling and working in the United States, it was her turn to pursue higher education and specifically the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education at the University of Patras. During this time, Antonia was tested in various educational and non-educational work environments, provided tutoring to students and creative activities to children of all ages up to 12 years old, and found herself as a private parallel support teacher in a special school. Somewhere along the way, she decided to study for a semester at PalackyUniversity in Olomouc, Czech Republic through the Erasmus+ programme. As she had a good time, however , Antonia, having learned, trained in a different educational system and lived in a multicultural environment while travelling, decided to return since her teachers had missed her in Patras. In between her studies, Antonia obtained a degree in computer use and attended various seminars, including “Training – Specialization of STEM Teachers” and “Special Education: Modern Digital Tools for the Assessment and Support of Students with Learning Difficulties” from the University of Volos, “Teaching Greek as a Second/Foreign Language: Theory and Practice” from the University of the Aegean, “Geography for Teachers” from the University of Patras and participates in workshops and conferences.
She graduates from her school with a grade of 8.03 having already applied for a second Erasmus+ – this time for an internship in an intercultural school in Krakow, Poland. So, just as a pandemic is knocking on the door of the whole of humanity, Antonia returns to Greece. At this point, in order to pass the time creatively and not having decided what postgraduate degree she wants to do, Antonia joins the research group of Mr. Manesis, a member of E.D.I.P. of the University of Patras. The year was indeed much more than creative, full of knowledge and unforgettable moments and thanks to this team and this man, Antonia realized her love for Education Policy and applied to the postgraduate program of the University of Patras “Policies of Higher Education” with Mr. George Stamello, who is the responsible professor of her thesis. And this is how we arrived to the present day.
Antonia, of course, apart from being a teacher, is an artistic person who loves theatre, dance and painting. Thus, for many years she has attended traditional dance, Latin and tango dance classes, painting classes, but she has also been on theatre stages with her favourite theatre group “Thespis Arts” by Maria Apostolatos and Konstantinos Palili. These pursuits, of course, have helped her indescribably in her profession and in her daily interactions with her beloved students from the 4th grade at the Afon Maltese Schools where she began working in 2022.
